FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I'm worried that I won't able to be hypnotized, can everyone do it?

Hypnosis is a natural state of mind that we all go into throughout the day and night. It is much like going to sleep, just waking up, daydreaming or when we are lost in thought, and in a very pleasant state of relaxation. Anyone who
has an imagination or can follow a basic set of instructions (directions to the pub or a shop etc) can enter into hypnosis easily with a competent practitioner.

What does it feel like to be in a trance?

For most people, the first session feels just like relaxing in your favourite chair at home (but with your eyes closed). If you go a little deeper into trance, it has been described by many as "my body was asleep and my mind was awake".

Will I be cured in an hour session?

We hear of miraculous cures using hypnosis, and one session cures do happen. But, it is more reasonable to expect improvement after one session and continued improvement thereafter. It all depends on the motivation of the individual and the nature of the issue being treated.

Will I get stuck in hypnosis?

No, it is impossible to get stuck in the hypnotic trance state. Some people enjoy the experience so much, like lying in bed, that they are reluctant to return to the normal waking state.

Are there any side effects to hypnosis?

No, hypnosis is a perfectly natural process that allows the individual to reach a very pleasant, deep level of relaxation without the use of pills or chemicals that can have side effects.
