WHAT IS CLINICAL HYPNOTHERAPY?

Clinical Hypnotherapy is the application of proven therapeutic techniques, while in deep relaxation or Hypnosis, to produce positive change in an individuals symptoms.

Progressive Relaxation, Posthypnotic suggestion, Glove Anaesthesia, NLP, Regression, Timelines, EMDR, Reframing, Aversion Therapy and Systematic Desensitization are just a few of the techniques that can be used during a Hypnotherapy session.

Clinical Hypnotherapy is an art and not an exact science because we are all unique and our problems are unique to us. Through experience, a practitioner knows that the key to success is to use the right technique at the right time. When this is achieved, the results can be magical.

Hypnotherapy is generally believed to be a quick or brief type of therapy, only requiring a few sessions. Although in some cases, anything up to 10 sessions maybe required depending on the individual, their history and their current issues. (Please click on "How many sessions?" for a guide).
Hypnosis can be used analytically, called Hypnoanalysis, to find out "why" the situation has occurred. To achieve positive change in most issues there is no need to know "why" or to go back into your childhood.

A typical Hypnotherapy session
involves discussion of the situation/problem, relaxation or light trance, deepening relaxation/trance, the therapy (specific to the individual and the problem) followed by Positive Ego-Boosting and awakening back to normal awareness. After a brief post-therapy chat, clients leave the sessions feeling refreshed, relaxed and very optimistic. Change in symptoms can be immediate or may build over a few days.
